The Guide to the Conservative Palinguage Vol.2 -- the People's Edition

    some highlights
If you get 18 million people to vote for you in a national presidential primary, you're a "phoney." Get 100,000+ people to vote you governor of the 47th most populous state in the Union, you're "well loved."

If you are biracial and born in a state not connected to the lower 48, America needs darn near 2 years and 3 major speeches to "get to know you." If you're white and from a state not connected to the lower 48, America needs 36 minutes and 38 seconds worth of an acceptance speech to know you're "one of us."

If your pastor rails against inequality in the United States of America, you're an "extremist." If your pastor welcomes a sermon by a member of Jews for Jesus who preaches that the killing of Jews by terrorists is a lesson to Jews that they must convert to Christianity, you're a "fundamentalist."

If you're a black man and you use a scholarship to get into college, then work your way up to being the president of the Harvard Law Review, you're "uppity." If you're a conservative and your parents pay your way to Hawaii Pacific University . . . you only have four more schools to attend over the next five years before you somehow manage to graduate (it might be five more schools over the next five years. No one has yet verified whether or not Palin was actually ever registered at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. But, you know how shady people are who ever attended any kind of school in Hawaii).

If you spend 18 months building a campaign around the theme of "Change," it's just "empty rhetoric." If one week before your party's national convention you SUDDENLY make your candidacy about "Change," that's "red meat."

found part 1 great stuff highlights

If you're a minority and you're selected for a job over more qualified candidates you're a "token hire." If you're a conservative and you're selected for a job over more qualified candidates you're a "game changer."

If you live in an Urban area and you get a girl pregnant you're a "baby daddy." If you're the same in Alaska you're a "teen father." (Actually, according to your own MySpace page you're an F'n redneck that don't want any kids, but that's too long a phrase for the evil liberal media to take out of context and flog morning noon and night).

Black teen pregnancies? A "crisis" in black America. White teen pregnancies? A "blessed event."

If you say that for the "first time in my adult lifetime I'm really proud of my country" it makes you "unfit" to be First Lady. If you are a registered member of a fringe political group that advocates secession that makes you "First Dude."

And, finally, if you're a man and you decide to run for office despite your wife's recurrence of cancer you're a "questionable spouse." If you're a woman and you decide to run for office despite having five kids including a newborn... Well, we don't know what that is 'cause THAT'S NOT A FAIR QUESTION TO ASK.

More like - if your pastor preaches Black Liberation Theology and you attend his services for 20 years and agree with him, you're an extremist.

Electing Obama would be similar to electing a white guy who has been attending klan meetings for 20 years.

Maybe Obama should have picked Senator Robert Byrd as his running mate so they would have had both angles covered.

Not much meat here, just different lingo used based on geographic area.

This is because of the difference in rates of teen births to single poor black mothers is far different than for white mothers.

The rest, however, I think is fairly accurate.

Having looked up Black Liberation Theology, I'm not sure how you can compare it to the KKK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_liberation_theology Not that it's necessarily relevant today.

Must we remind everybody that Obama is half White? Not sure why this is always lost when people start calling him out as a black Klan equivalent.

If you look at the Key Concepts of Black Liberation Theology they are all suppressive and tyranny based political views and support the redistribution of wealth...and that means your money.

                                Key Concepts:

                                Subsidiarity
                                Christian anarchism
                                Marxism
                                Liberation Theology
                                Praxis School
                                Precarity
                                Human dignity
                                Social market economy
                                Communitarianism
                                Distributism
                                Catholic social teaching
                                Neo-Calvinism
                                Neo-Thomism

One of the cornerstone principles of the Ku Klux Klan is suppression and tyranny focused on entire recess of people and whites who dont support the movement. They also favor and support the redistribution of wealth.

The Ku Klux Klan, Black Liberation Theology, and the Black Panter Party all use the same building blocks in there core message. The main diffrence is once on the far right and the other on the far left.

Besides, threats of secession are just a way to get more from the federal government. Quebec has been doing this for decades here in Canada.

He is half white by blood but he is socially all black.

And BLT can be compared to the KKK because both are based on extreme racism.

"Black theology cannot accept a view of God which does not represent God as being for oppressed blacks and thus against white oppressors. Living in a world of white oppressors, blacks have no time for a neutral God. The brutalities are too great and the pain too severe, and this means we must know where God is and what God is doing in the revolution. There is no use for a God who loves white oppressors the same as oppressed blacks. We have had too much of white love, the love that tells blacks to turn the other cheek and go the second mile. What we need is the divine love as expressed in black power, which is the power of blacks to destroy their oppressors, here and now, by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject God's love." [A Black Theology of Liberation, p. 70]

I think it's apples and oranges. Wright's comments were devisive and outdated, but show me a clip of any of his surmons where he argues to 'destroy his opporessors', rejecting God if God doesn't support this objective, and so forth.

I think actions speak louder than words, and his actions inside and outside of the military don't speak to the brand of BLT that you quoted. His church was one of the most popular in Chicago. Obama worked in the Chicago area. White and Black faces in the pews; a church of inclusivity, not exclusivity. Surmons based around Christian teachings, not racial politics.

I think Gouge's politico-social assessment of BLT has more merits.

But it goes deeper than just Black Liberation Theology, its what the movement supports...specifically the political movements of which its founded upon that feed off one another.

All of the above are based around the concept of Black Liberation Theology and none support our charters of freedom that are the Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States and The Bill of Rights.

I'm nervous. Who does my future Vice President and God want me to kill? Iraqi's? Will I go to hell if I don't?

If you believe you can vote in radical change in the USA your kidding yourselves...

Your choice is between awful and bloody awful/stupid....

For those of us living outside the US it is maybe better if you continue to let the mad people run the place...

This has allowed a lot of other centres of power to grow in strength...and maybe there is some chance of real radical change in the world if there is more than just one ( American ) Mafia family running the show. In the space created between US China Europe rivalry maybe some cracks in the system will grow...
