NP, the other main drug you'll find that is in just about every other sleeping med out there is Diphenhydramine or better known as benadryl. It's ok, but it can make you feel kinda shitty in the morning and doesn't kick your ass like doxylamine does.

I have a tough time sleeping. I take 1-2 Equate Sleep Aid Tablets and a shot of Equate Night Time. These are the Wal-Mart brands of Unisom and Nyquil. Both contain Doxylamine Succinate. I'm out cold for 8-12 hours.

OK my personal arsenal which does vary on how many nights I have had bad sleep.

Melatonin - Occasional but it does not work well if you have real insomnia nor does it keep you asleep.

Ambien (some use CR) I do not care for controlled release so skip the CR for me. 10 mg tablets. I will take whole tablet to get to sleep if need be. Occasionally I will cocktail it.

Valium 10mg tablets. 1 tablet usually can help relax me, 2.5 tablets will make me a bit drowsy. Much better for staying asleep. Occasionally I will cocktail it.

Common cocktails: 1 valium + 1 ambien = typically good dose to make you drowsy and stay asleep if you have no pain. 15 mg valium + 5 mg ambien + 1 aspirin better to keep you sleeping. Assorted other approved versions as well and some may include norco.

If you can not really fucking sleep and are going mental because of it. In comes the Seroquel. Now true it may be a antipsychotic and all but it will knock your ass out. Typically prescribed in 25mg doses for sleeping issues (up to 400mg for others). One of these will pretty much knock my ass out, 50mg of it is like being hit by a 2x4. I can not even think of using up to 400mg of this crap. This shit will leave you fucked up the next day often.

Ambien CR 12.5 mg, if you are around 180 - 220 pounds , this will give you a perfect 8 hour sleep. Use CR because it kepps in in a good sleep state.

The worst is when you have to get up in the middle because some one called or kid was crying etc...you are walking zomby

Valium is technically a muscle relaxer and can be addictive. Highly, no. Easy to moderate, very much so.

I was first prescribed 10mg valium when I was 12, that was over 24 years ago. I always have gotten them in 30 tablet per month refill/bottles.
