HTPC, MCE, LinuxMCE, MythBuntu - 1080p Media Center PC

Anyone have one that does 1080p flawlessly? Hardware wise..

I'm thinking about getting a HDMI motherboard to try it out, but I've read mixed things about whether they can keep up with 1080p.

Anyone have any experience here?

Also looking for tips on which MCE OS to use.. MythBuntu looks pretty promising, less features than LinuxMCE but I heard LinuxMCE is a bad choice for HD

I use coreAVC pro 1.7.0 for 1080p mkv videos
a 2ghz or better dual core cpu can decode 1080p mkv videos with coreAVC
I use vista media center (comes with home premium / ultimate versions of vista) and one MCE keyboard + remote to manage HTPC
HDMI is a must if you will connect your htpc to your full hd panel.

Do you have a PC with a TV tuner card or a motherboard with built in HDMI and graphics card?

I went straight for a video card on mine, thinking I might toss a game in there at some point. It's a core2duo using Vista home premium (I'd gotten a free legit copy with a cpu/mb bundle) and 2 gigs of ram.

Hrmmm cool.. I guess if I bought a video card it would easily play 1080p.. I'm curious if I can get away with an HDMI based motherboard now that there's a few out on the market.

Also anyone use the linux based MCE's?
