I did grow up in the States and having lived in the Philly and Boston area there are not many people I know of that haven't heavily relied on public transport at some part of their lives. When you make your whole campaign about having experience and your opponent being inexperienced, why would you pick someone with less experience than Senator Obama (and Gov Palin has ZERO national security experience) and put her a heartbeat away from the Presidency?

It's not about who is going to vote, it never is... it's about who is going to contribute MONEY. If you don't get that at this point you really need to take a closer look at how politics have been handled in this country for the past 100 years.

An Alaska VP is not going to make Republicans take out their checkbooks to write donations to McCain. It may make many Americans from large cities take out their checkbooks for Obama. New York wasn't ever going to vote for McCain... motivating New Yorkers to send more money to Obama was a bad political move.

Do you know anyone MORE likely to send money to McCain now that he has chosen an Alaskan VP? I don't. On the other hand, like him or not, Biden brings a hell of a lot more financial backing to Obama's campaign than many other choices would have brought.

Obama has alot more experience than she does. Before governor she was the mayor in a city of 6500 people for christ's sake. So if Obama admits experience is important then what is he going to do when McCain attacks him? I think McCain picked her to get some Hillary votes (I doubt it will be many but who knows maybe it will be significant) and also also to ease some conservatives (especially pro-lifers) worries and bring them back to the polls.

I'm saying McCain is going to have a hard time attacking Obama over experience now, when his VP pick has less experience than Obama.
Especially after McCain said earlier that he realizes the heightened importance of the pick because of his age.

Obama picks a really old guy, and McCain picks a pretty attractive younger woman. They both played towards their weaknesses ... though I have to say McCain did choose a pretty amazing person. The Obamabots will rubbish anything McCain does but still people who still have the ability to think for themselves will admit this was a masterful choice

Obama isn't going to attack this pick, at all. He doesn't have to.

BUT, when McCain talks about how Obama isn't ready to be President all Obama has to do is point at Palin, who has less experience than he does, but whom McCain thinks worthy of being a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

It's not about something Obama can attack. It's about McCain losing his biggest talking point with this pick.
