another computer question, monitor troubles
finally got my cable internet workingbut now i'm having monitor troubles. the screen resolution won't go over 640x480 and i can't get more than 24 colors. i downloaded the drivers but that didn't help. any suggestions?

Uninstall all your video card software. Remove the card and reinstall the hardware.
I had a simlar problem before. And this worked. |

Make sure "auto detect plug and play monitors" is checked. If you installed then newest video card drivers properly and things are still messed up, then perhaps you don't have the proper settings for your monitor.
It sounds like it's set to standard VGA 640X480. It's usually under the advanced settings of your display properties settings. |

you have an nVidia chipset right?
change the res on 800x600 (no. of colours doesn't matter) , restart (it may crash but doesn't matter too) and after that you should ba able to change the resolution as you want...good luck ![]()
