Bah - Bronx still has some real nice areas. Did some work there and it was a pleasent neighborhood, loaded with chubby Italians in jogging suits ;) Wicked deli there. Hehe... you will laugh... I said I'd treat them at the strip club... as soon as I said "strip club" those were like magic words... Part of the problem was that I hesitated because I wasn't sure if somebody was playing a prank on me when they came from behind... and because I was wearing a heavy backpack and wearing a hood I couldn't really see who had grabbed me. Now when I walk down the street I'm thinking about how I would take down everyone I pass -- I'm sizing up everyone as the enemy... so that I can make faster decisions.

Anyway good advice posted on here... I'm taking taxis home at night now and I'm looking for another apartment. Really there's no reason for me to be in this neighborhood -- I'm the only young white guy in this area and I get wierd looks all the time... i'm not out to prove anything. Yes there are some really friendly people in my "hood" but there seems to be no point. I'm mostly thinking in terms of risk management hehe...

My friends from college are starving artist types that can't afford much -- I originally came to NY to hang with these guys because Florida was getting boring... they get into trouble in Brooklyn too but they can't afford more... They are giving me shit for moving out -- but when it comes down to it they don't feel safe in BedStuy either -- I don't want to get into it because it's pretty depressing... But normally when people go from being self employed, to working for someone else in this biz, this is a big red flag in our business the person had fallen on hard times. NYC can be tough.. San francisco can be tough too! like this time we were chillin at Roaring 20's and it was closing time.. I was inside talking to the DJ, meanwhile outside Leroy the pimp had a gun pointed at my partner who was with his girlfriend.. he was shaking them down cuz he was the main pimp of north beach. I walked outside and saw what was happening and I pimp smacked Leroy on the back of the head and took his gun away.. I told that muthahfucka that I was putting his ass under pimp arrest for attempting to unlawfuly steal another pimps hoe! he felt mad stupid when I showed him how strong my pimp hand was.. and with me being a white boy the burn was even stronger for Leroy..

GTF outta Bed Stuy Fly. Not a good first place to move. For those of you who don't know, Fly is living steps away from the Marcy Projects which is where Jay Z grew up and it's also the area Big grew up in as well. It's not all terrible but definitely not the best area for white guys.

If you come down fulton just a half a mile you can live in Fort Green for a good price. A one bedroom will run ya $1,200. Virtually no crime around those parts all the way to Brooklyn Heights promenade off the east river. Or catch one of the downtown Manhattan rebates that make a decent 1 bedroom cost around $1,700 instead of the usual $2,400.

You seem like a nice guy so please get out of there.
