    Phishing Verotel Customers

This ridiculous email is floating around:

    from verotel.support AT GMAIL.com
    Dear Verotel Customer,

According to our Terms of Service (TOS) from time to time we perform additionl security checks of our customer accounts. This is done because we want to maintain our customer security as high as possible. Therefore we need you'r Control Center Login details to install latest security patch for you and for you'r site. Please send us you'r Verotel ID, Secret Code, you'r site name(s), + any other info that you can provide us (like FTP or SSH infos for you'r site(s) ). We classify this security update as critical and whould ask you to send as much infos that you can as soon as possible so that we can prevent data or money loss for you'r site(s). If we don't receive you'r response in few days we will have to temporally close you'r account and after that even permanently if we don't install this security patch soon. Note that if we temporally disable your account we will need few weeks to re-activate it again, during that period you won't be able to make any transactions. So please contact us as soon as possible with all details we requested. For any additionl info that you require send us a email to this address.

    YEAH, right.

        Agreed.

There are 1 in 1000 e-mails I spam e-mails I receive, and that make it through the filters, you 'might' almost believe.

Except spelling, use of English, or the e-mail address is a dead give-a-way.

Not to mention their return email address: [email protected]

Verotel should follow up on this just as a safeguard to those that might actually fall for it.
