I guess it's the windows update, same thing happened to me..using XP

You have to check once again your windows firewall settings and make sure the wireless is unblocked for http etc. then it should work.

I am sure you can find someone geekier than me to help though.

It is XP, and I will check the forewall and all, but when I go into Network settings it is just my normal connection, no wireless

              try control panel/device manager/
it should show there...make sure it's enabled

if not, check you bios setting went you boot (del,esc,F2)....might have to "enable wireless" from there.

              Hope this Helps

make sure to install all your drivers. go online to your pc's company site. download the missing drivers and you should be good to go. you should check the obvious like make sure the wireless in turned on....but assuming that is done i would check the missing drivers and download.install them. good luck. you can hit me up on ICQ if you are really stuck and i will get one of my programmers/network guys to help you out.

doesn't matter if xp doesn't come with the drivers already.

99% of the times I've had issues after reinstalling Windows, it's been a driver issue.

If you know the brand/model of your wireless card then try downloading the drivers / updates / etc. From the manufacturer if they are available. If you dont know the brand / model of your wireless card then you may have to download a benchmark program such as sandra that tells you what all hardware you have in your comp right down to the motherboard. Then use that information to find your drivers again.

Still need the drivers sometimes. Did you update to sp2 or is it sp3 now? I forget since im on vista and dont have any problems with drivers hehe. Download sp3 install it. If that doesn't work visit the site of your laptop maker. There should be an area to download drivers.

after you install SP3, if it still doesn't work, Find out what kind of card it is and do a force install.
