Moving recurring sales to another processor?
Is it possible to transfer current members to another billing processor? Say you decide to change your billing processor and you want to move all of the recurring transactions to the new processor. So next time the customer gets charged for his monthly membership, he will be billed by another billing company? Is this possible? Anyone has experience with this?
Thanks in advance. |

I thought you cant do that unless you have the merchant account. That they really arent your customers they are the processors.

I came up with the idea of cascading rebilling, I spoke to ccbill about it and they like the idea however it is illegal to transfer credit card info over, so it can not be done.
it would make a lot of programs a lot more money if it were possible though. |

You are incorrect. When you have your own merchant account, the data is technically yours. As long as you transfer the data from a PCI certified payment gateway/processor to another, you are allowed to do this. Thanks, Mitch

So if you have your own merchant account with a processor and something happens with your processor or with the bank, then you will be able to save and move your recurring sales to a new processor?

So if that is the case then processors could work together and create a cascading re-billing solution?
