Which makes more sense?. the russians, who's military isn't tied up in a bunch of major military conlflicts and had the equipment staged for this invasion to start this conflict.. knowing that there wouldn't be much of a response by georgias allies to start this

For three weeks beginning on July 15th, 1650 US TROOPS trained and prepared the Georgians for their attack. Also provided to Georgia from Israel were 1000+ advisors, intel and equipment. Right after the US troops left is when Georgia began it's attacks on South Ossettia.

No way the US would want to provoke Russia? Think about that again? Perhaps they want Russia's hands tied when the US and Israel attack Iran. Perhaps this whole shebang was to divert Russia's attention away from Iran while the US naval blockade continues to position itself.
