Anyone familiar with google analytics "goals" ?

I've setup a new goal for the "thank you page" after a sale occured.
But where exactly can you track the origin of the sale? Eg. from a specific banner or an MGP?

I tagged all incoming links to my site.

Anyone using this system to track sales?

Cheers

I use Google Analytics and I was wondering how that worked myself. I thought it was for tracking Google Adwords campaigns, but I am not sure if it can be used for tracking other things as well.

The link url of the banner should go to a page, that redirects the person to your landing page. An intermediary page.

So banner click -> temp page -> actual landing page
Set up a funnel from temp page to the landing page to the goal.

Done. Just make sure all pages have the analytics code on it.

I have parameters in the banner url, made with analytics link builder. Isn't that the same?

What i actually meant was, where in the admin area can you see that the conversion is from the banner or any other campaign?
