and why?
I see a lot of people, including a gf of mine, who travels with their passport (domestic U.S.). I notice it more now at the airports. I see a lot of U.S. based old fucks, and college kids doing it. Please explain. ![]() |

I'm not sure about everyone else but my reason is simple... My passport photo looks hotter.

honestly its a BETTER form of ID and will get you through lines quicker. It is always a good idea when traveling to have more than 1 type of ID in case you get pick pocketed you likely still have the other ID.
Last thing you want is to lose your wallet 2k miles from home ;)

It's always to carry your passport as a backup anyway......Plus it helps with e-ticket checkins.....You don't even have to know your flight number or anything....Just swipe your passport and voila.....There's your reservation....
Punch a couple more buttons, get your bags checked right there, and get your boarding pass printed out.....

Another good reason to bring a passport is that you don't have to keep pulling the ID out of your wallet everytime someone asks....You can put your wallet in your carryon and just keep flashing the passport.

I fly NWA (straight outta compton I can see your point on having multiple I.D.'s. though. I lost my car keys once, and left from an airport an hour north. I had to have my sister overnight my keys to L.A.. |

I would agree with BVF saying that you dont have to keep taking your ID out of your wallet. The rest of the stuff is non-sense. I use the DR Lic. and i get in just as fast as anyone else does. There isnt a seperate line for passports with less people on it. I would say if you are flying out of your local state. they are more likely to question a passport then that states ID.

I will start taking my passport from now on since the last trip I made I went to check in to find out that my drivers license was expired by three months. Luckily I had another picture id with me and they allowed me to board.

I use passport most of the time now - lets me pre-prepare for the security line. Can stuff all my crap (keys, wallet, etc.) in my laptop bag and not worry about anything.
Basically I had a few close calls with almost forgetting my license, seems I keep track of my passport a lot better for whatever reason
