Since this is your thread I'll post another pic taken that same day to help motivate you to get on that bike and ride :thumbsup

Cool, if it's in good shape it's actually worth decent money. Quite a few old school BMX collectors out there.

Yeah, but it's worth more to me sitting in the garage. Oh the memories. :thumbsup

I got an aluminum Orange EVO 02. Botranger wheels, full XTR kit, hard tail, no front suspension. I like to feel my ride :)

Try to get out on it for a few hour long sessions every week

great thread! didn't realize there were that many people into cycling around here :)

I've got a hand painted with a brush fucked up black scott mountain bike, looks like shite but
works like a dream and no fuckers going to nick it. I use it all the time to get around the city.

Some cunt in a merc knocked me off it the other day, 'his fault' and then shouted at me for denting his bumper, so I got up, blood pouring from my leg picked the bike up and threw it at his windscreen, retrived it and rode off.

Good story. I doubt I'd ever throw mine, I simply value it too much... but I can see where having a junker could come in handy at times. :thumbsup

As Bob would say "C'mon down!"

(and "Don't forget to neuter and spay your pets.".......)

I tell you guys I absolutely love this bike. Note the three counterweights in the back spokes, that's what causes the gears to shift automatically. Speed goes up, gears shift up. Slow down and it automatically gears down.

Heaven on two wheels I tell you.

Only trouble I fear I'm going to have is getting parts replaced when I eventually need to. From what I know of it this bike is no longer in production. I may have to try to buy another used one just to cannibalize it's parts. I would rather not go back to a regular manual shifter.

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh :thumbsup I'm going to go buy the heaviest bike I can just so I can throw it at drivers. It's amazing that people don't understand how easily they can kill a cyclist

Pretty old(15 or so yo) cromoly peugeot mountain bike with a front air/oil trek suspension using mostly lx.

I need a new one, might opt for a road one since I have few friends into it. Trail/Moutain bike is so much fun though.

bauhaus 08-07-2008 02:15 PM

Yeah bike talk.. finally I can post.

SantaCruz Blur... XXL Frame matte black..full xtr

SantaCruz SuperLights ... xt backup bike.

Merlin Titanium Team, full xtr. For when I actually find some mellow single track down here in costa rica. Otherwise I need the beat handlers I listed above.

I start most of my mornings with a 30-40km beach ride.... If anyone is in Costa Rica hit me up to ride..... Its pretty amazing to live in a country where after Soccer/Football cycling is the top national sport...they take it SERIOUSLY

DoubleT 08-07-2008 02:27 PM

I have three bikes -
mountain - Cannondale F600 hardtail frame with xt/xtr components, hand built wheels(I built them)
road - Specialized Roubaix 27 - that I converted to a double and upgraded to ultegra
urban - Specialized P1(the original model) - I took the suspension off and put a 100mm corrected fork on it to make it fully ridged, w/ xtr levers and avid mechanical disc brakes

I ride as much as time and weather allows :)

You have me beat. I do about 10-15 kms, 3-4 days per week. Mostly city and riverbank trail riding.

Working on it though. Haven't ridden much in the last 5 years, but that's all changed this year.

true, i've had cheap bikes for exercise only for years and walmart bikes are ok, as soon as you wear off the 2nd rear tire the chain and sprockets need replacing so you put it out with the weekly garbage and they take it away.

on my 3rd $89 mountain bike now---also they work ok indoors in the winter on the bike trainer. easy way to keep the belly flat, i do 30 minutes every day (8 miles)

best mooch deal i found on a road bike recently is here:
