A Solo site should do & not do.

So what do you feel should be done or not done in regards to starting or running a solo site? Be it from a site owners view, an affiliates view, or even a designer/others point of view.

What is ideal, what would be expected, unexpected, you name it.

i can only speak for the teen solo girl sites - which are a different breed than others

3 most important things about a teen solo site are:

    1. the girl
    2. the girl
    3. the girl

after that it's having as much content as you can have of her - shot upfront in case she disappears or quits for any of a hundred and one reasons - and letting affiliates run with that content if they are sales producers

    what not to do:

NEVER EVER EVER make a model your business partner unless she's your wife or gf and that's how things have to be
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Haha Mutt love the NEVER EVER EVER
Shouldnt camera personality fit in somewhere between 1 and 3?

Naturally one should shoot as much as possible and expect them to leave, hell not expecting them to would just be piss poor planning regardless.

Want to elaborate more on the letting affiliates run with the content if they produce sales? So you think no limited or what?

We all have. Hell I have seen hundreds of bad members areas even outside of the solo realm. So please elaborate more on what you think makes them bad or pretty bad.

Here are my thoughts as an affiliate that sends a few thousand sales a year to solo girls.

              Should do:

              - Use CCBill if you are small. If you are one or two girls and not huge sites, there really is no need to have your own program under NATS. In fact, I'd prefer you don't. A lot of affiliates promote a lot of solo girls and I'd rather just get a big check from CCBill than waiting to hit minimums on other ones.

              - Less is more in terms of sites. I'd rather have a program with 3 girls with a lot of good content than 20 with hardly any.

              - Good content. I think the days of pump and dump solo girls are over. The only solo girls that perform real well for me are the ones with a lot of good, unique content. And unique is important. Every girl is a busty, young blonde dressing like a high schooler. Try something different, give the site a personality. A girl who only fucks black guys, only fucks old guys, likes to pose outdoors, anything that is unique. Brandi Belle is a great example.

              - Protect your content. Hire a company to file DMCA with major sites that steal. Use tools at your disposal to protect your content in your members area.

              Shouldn't Do:

              - Give away your whole fucking members area in hosted galleries. I swear, for some of the girls out there, there is no reason to join a members area. I can google their name and find a gallery for every single set they have on their site. Limit the galleries that are available and slowly remove older ones from your webmaster panel (don't deactivate them).

              - Give away the good shit in your free stuff. If it's a hardcore solo girl, don't give away her doing hardcore (or at least just show something very close to hardcore). If she's just a nude model, don't give away too many nude pics. The whole concept of these sites is to pay to see them get naked. When you're giving this away for free, there is no point in signing up.

              - Give open acces to your affiliate program panel. Most CCBill programs can be logged into with any 6-7 digit number. Surfers are getting smarter, I'd imagine a lot are just going to the webmasters section and going through all the free content that is available.

              - Take down a site. If you have affiliates taking the time to build pages and sites for your solo girl, there is nothing worse than having her kill the site a couple weeks later. It hurts your reputation and I avoid companies that have a history of it. If this means shooting 3 years of content up front, so be it. If it just means leaving a stagnant site up, so be it. But don't drop the entire site because you didn't do your legal homework or feel bad now that she found God.

personality and camera presence helps but isn't that important as long as the girl doesn't absolutely look like she's hating what she's doing - there is one teen solo site model who looks that way - i thought she'd be a star off her looks but she looks miserable posing and i think that sunk the ship

the best response you could ever hope for with a teen solo site model is 'holy fuck -how did this girl ever get into porn?'

Thanks PocketKangaroo, so am I right in thinking you feel that the webmaster promo area should be locked up and by more than just entering in a few numbers into the ccbill field?
Would an affiliate area on a separate domain all together and no webmaster links on the tour itself be more to your liking?

the point about locking down your affiliate content area is moot - i don't believe there are many smart surfers who use this technique, they can find all those galleries at any number of good comprehensive free sites like FreeOnes and PetiteTeenager

i do agree that all solo site programs should be using RemoveYourContent or a similar service - at least making the attempt to keep entire members areas and full photosets and videos off the free web - doing it yourself is impossible, i've seen what RYC does so I'll be using it for upcoming sites - affiliates should pressure programs to use it

Nah this is a hypothetical site that does not exist yet so nothing has left the gate. If the owner wanted to restrict how much promo content was available it could be done.

Sites can remove old galleries from their affiliate panel. I know Phil-Flash used to have tons of free hosted galleries for all his girls and he has since trimmed them down substantially. I know they will still be out there, but it helps reduce the amount of different content that is readily available for an individual surfer.

But I was more talking about new sites being launched.

I agree with this 100% there is so much free promotional material out there it would seem the surfer has less incentive to join a site. I would think it would be best to give out the least possible but still gain the surfers interest and hook them in.

So let's say I have a unique solo girl site with exclusive content and want to start an affiliate program through CCBill. What would be the minimum amount of content I would need to make available to affiliates for them to be effective?

                                      BTW Great thread
