Amatuer Allure Quality?

From what i see lot's of brightlights, a rightlight and high shutter speed give him that crips picture quality.

AA quality of content shots is really great!

Thats why my next new toy will be a ring flash...

Eyes are VERY important!

Too bright for me.

PerfectGonzo always had best vid quality for me.

the ultra distorted faces annoy the hell out of me

One doesn't need a ringflash to bring out the eyes...one just needs to learn proper lighting techniques

I have 2 ringflash units but hardly ever use them. I use them more for special effects and not as a crutch. But I do see people using them on everything...which IMO kinda ruins the beauty of using it at all. Just my

Not to mention....it takes a lot of practice to be able to use one properly and effectively.

he definitely has a look and feel to his shit of his own - very unique.

i find the male talent creepy but the fresh talent finds and the unique look set AA apart from the thousand other POV 'amateur' sites.

he's always shot in 16:9

that's part of his shtick - there's a surreal artsy quality to his scenes - the music adds to it

If there are other video producers on here maybe we can share some info. If Thomas is on here, and in a giving mood, maybe he'd be willing to share.

I actually joined that site for the sole purpose of finding out how he shoots such high quality vids.

One thing I've noticed is his compression. The videos I produce are rendered at 1.5Mbps and generally give a video compressed at about 10MB per minute in wmv. AA's videos are rendered at almost 10Mbps yet they give a video that comes out to about 20MB per minute. There's someone else in this thread who told me this so I'm not taking credit for it but there's a compression SW called Squeeze that supposedly will allow you to render the video as AA does with very high quality but at a manageable file size.

His lighting is always perfect as well. The girls are always in perfect make-up and always have on classy outfits to start out with. Anyone else out there had girls show up in ratty-ass cut off jeans shorts and a t-shirt? :-) What a pain.

Props to AA. With all of the adult sites out there it's something when a thread like this pops up with people prasiing it.

If anyone has any specific insight that they feel would assist other videographers and myself, I ask that you please post it.

Well, the two comments were sorta together, sorta separate.

I'm an aspiring photog. I dont want to use a ringflash specifically for eyes alone. Although on some close up shots like in amateur allure it would be nice.

The eyes comment was a general overall.. even in person i attract to eyes before most anything else, unless of course the girl has an exceptionally nice rack!

I want a little of everything to play around.

Lighting IS key!!! I'm learning. Investing in a nice set of lights right now. well, making the order tomorrow from BH.

I also want the ringflash for macro stuff ... n udies wont be my only focus. I plan on making a wedding portfolio and even scenic shit.

Don't get me wrong. I plan on shooting some nice college girls too
