I do agree on the part that I made bold. However, only that guy knows if he felt out of danger yet, for all we know, he had no idea that he knocked him out. Couple that with adrenaline and human emotions, that's what you get... a harsh reaction to a hash action.

You have a point; however, it is fortunate that most legislation (where I'm from) is not written giving individuals absolute authority to act on any emotion (e.g. danger) to any extent based on how they are feeling at any time. The standard is normally based on what the act of reasonable person would be in the situation.
Here's what I saw towards the end...
Eleven landed punches to the back of the head while prone with no motion. One stomp to the back of the head/neck while prone with no motion. One swinging kick after stepping back assessing the situation and winding up.
I'll be generous and give him reasonable up to and including the stomp.
He's lucky the bystanders stopped him or he'd have killed the guy.Comment
