A Down & Dirty Guide to Building Adult Web Sites

Anyone have this book? Is it worth getting for someone that already has a fairly successful website or it is just for the novice?

I've got a full page ad in there... and I'm quoted on the back cover as well

It honestly is a very thorough book - I have never seen anything better. Additionally, I've received calls from people that have read it and enjoyed it.

Cheers,

Brad

Not worth to buy it if you are not total newbie.

Amazon sells this book. Take a look at the email I received from Amazon as it relates to my affiliate application:

We have completed our review of your application to become an Amazon.com Associate, which included a visit to the Web pages where you planned to feature items for sale at Amazon.com. In the online copy of the operating agreement, linked from the application form, you may not have noticed this provision:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sites that Do Not Qualify for the Amazon.com Associates Program
include:

* Sites that promote sexually explicit material

A bit contradictory? They sell a book on how to build a porn site but yet they stand the high moral ground and won't allow affiliates that promote sexually explicit material????

Yeah interesting that Amazon makes a big deal about their policy of selling anything that meets their criteria, regardless of subject matter (i.e. they sell a book about pedophilia.)

Oh well, fascists.

C.

Thought some of you may find amazon's reply interesting:

Hello again from the Amazon.com Associates Program.

At this time it is our policy not to seek links from sites containing
sexually explicit material. This policy excludes such sites from
being accepted into our Associates Program.

We are not, presently, making any exceptions to this rule.

As regards "A Down & Dirty Guide to Building Adult Web Sites," we
sell more than 4.7 million titles about a wide variety of topics; we
do not endorse any opinions expressed by individual authors, musical
artists, or filmmakers. Our role as a retailer is to sell books,
music, videos, and other products, not to censor them.

Our goal is to support freedom of expression and to provide customers with the broadest selection possible so they can find, discover and buy any title they might be seeking. That selection includes some titles which most people, including employees of Amazon.com, may find distasteful or otherwise objectionable.

Amazon.com believes it is censorship not to sell certain titles
because we believe their message is repugnant, and we would be
rightly criticized if we did so. Therefore, we will continue to
make controversial works available in the United States and
everywhere else, except where they are prohibited by law.

Furthermore, because we strongly believe that the appropriate response to repugnant speech is not censorship, but more speech, we
will continue to allow readers, authors, and publishers to express
their views freely about the books and other products we offer on our
web site. It is important to note that we do not endorse any opinions expressed by individual authors, musical artists, or filmmakers.

We value all feedback from our customers, and I thank you again for taking the time to send us your comments about this issue.
