My dentist told me, everybody is doing it, including him. There is no rescue... of course I am one of you in this too. Maybe xanax helps sometimes, not sure about that.

I grind my teeth really bad when I am stressed too, same symptoms.

I have found the best way to prevent it is to sleep on your back. Its helped me.

Now I find that when I do have headaches, its from when I woke up not sleeping on my back. It can be hard to sleep like that all the time, but I often wake up like that now so I think my body is figuring it out and making the correction in my sleep.

I would be scared of choking on a grind guard thing too, not for me. Try sleeping on your back, if you don't already that is.

forgot to add, that yeah caffeine makes it worse, and redbull will make it terrible.

I do that when I've very stressed. I can tell because I'll wake up with a killer headache and sore teeth. :( So far I haven't found a way to stop it, because I can't really predict when it will happen.

I'll try that tonight. It's making for very poor sleep and I'm always exhausted. Good tip.

I'm surprised to see so many people here that do this. I wonder what the common denominator is?

Ummm. No harm in trying this method.

Wife says I do, so do my mistress...

J/k - do not have a wife!

On a more serious note, wife does say I do and she hates it. Thinking of those mold things. And maybe stop drinking wine - supposedly I do it more the nights I have had wine before bed.

Going to bed and will report tomorrow if I did grind my teeth tonight. Had a couple glasses of Cabernet.

Gnight.

I do and have had to have several teeth crowned because of it :(

My dentist has made me 2 guards. The first one was rubbery and I chewed right through in a few months. So he made one that is VERY hard. Like the plastic on a remote or on a retainer if you ever wore one of those. I have to pull it off in the AM - no way it would come off at night while I was sleeping. It was about $550. A lot cheaper than more crowns.

Sometimes at night I catch myself clenching my teeth but I don't grind my teeth at in my sleep because I sleep with my mouth open drooling all over the damn bed.

INever 07-31-2008 09:55 PM
