Just read this book last month. A lesser known but fascinating crisis.
When Washington Shut Down Wall Street: The Great Financial Crisis of 1914 and the Origins of America's Monetary Supremacy William L. Silber Stock market was closed for 4 months or so.

I just noticed those numbers.. The years where crisis start/boom ends with '7'.
 The 1997 Financial Crisis made made a huge impact on Asian economy before as well.
