Local Monthly Adult Entertainment Guides
Was flipping thru a local adult entertainment mag looking to advertise for talent. You know the kind with all the stripclubs, dvd reviews,
lingerie models, escorts, personals and so on. In Tampa we have Nightmoves and I think in South Florida it's Xcitement Magazine. I wondering if anyone has a list of the monthly adult magazines in their area? Have you ever used them to find talent and was it successful?

In the 10 plus years I ran adult bookstores and strip clubs I saw literally hundreds of these magazines come and go. They would come into our stores and clubs and try to sell ad space in 3 month blocks, and inevitably they would be out of business before the third issue was published. If you do decide to place an ad make sure you go month to month.
I do know that Xcitement and Night Moves are franchises and are published in several different cities throughout the US, so if you want to go that route you at least will know they have been around a bit longer and you have someone to complain to if a certain city's franchise goes belly up. As far as recruiting talent it would depend on what kind of talent you are looking for. If you are looking to recruit the headaches that are strippers most of my girls used to read the magazines in the clubs when it was slow and they were bored, so you can definitely reach that segment. The only other people who ever even picked up the magazines were out of towners and truckers that were looking for some place to jack off or to pick up a hooker for the night. I never saw locals picking them up, and I can't ever remember a female customer in any of the stores bothering with them...
