Need Help With My Iphone (Wireless Issue)

Hey iphone fanatics, maybe someone might know the issue i am having here. I am at my cottage and am on my bell wimax high speed internet (which works fine). I have a linksys wireless router hooked up (also works fine).

Anyways my iphone WILL connect to the wireless router but for some reason the internet will NOT work? I have tried resetting the wireless router, resetting the iphone's "lease", resetting to the factory networking settings on the iphone, pulling the power on the wireless router and the doing a hard reset on the iphone.

I'm pretty much at my wit's end LOL!

Does anyone else have any suggestions? Or should I just throw the fucking thing in the lake? :

Thanks!

under settings, wifi, and turn ask to join wireless networks on, all the wireless networks in your area should show up

That's the part of your post I got stuck on. Does your linksys have a firewall built in? have you tried contacting Bell, and see if it's a problem on thier end. They may need to purge your line, and simply reset it from thier office.

I have a linksys wireless router, and don't have any issues with it. Apart from the ocassional purge to clear the line, and they reset everything.

We have a Linksys router and have a similar issue with all the Macs in our home. We managed to find a fix, but I wouldn't no where to look now.

I have found alot of people on the net having this kind of problem after doing some research... My iphone works no problem at all on my home wifi but it won't work here? It see's the router, connects to the router, I can see the DNS and all the other good stuff...

It's really just bizarre! I am 99% sure i have the same linksys router at home as I do here? The only difference is that I have rogers at home and bell wimax here.

Maybe you're right, maybe bell is the problem here and I need to call them.

Thanks for your input!

Is the network protected? WPA?

I had a problem with my macbook with an unprotected linksys router.. turning on WPA seemed to do the trick.

does your router have DHCP enabled? Does it assign you an ip address? Did you try connecting with laptop or other wireless device? Does that work?

The main problem could be not properly assigned ip address, or DNS servers. If you have a computer which is connected to the same router in the same subnet, try pinging iPhone (only if you know its ip address, if it's assigned) and see whether you get ping back.
