Thank you guys.

Saw Eva yesterday and the prognosis is she will be in ICU until Thursday/Friday and then into a general ward where she will need some therapy to get back on her feet and then they will have a better idea of when she will be home.

She did say to me on the phone Friday night she will home sooner, but I think she was confused. Probably a bit dazed or drugs LOL. She also broke her jaw again yawning Friday night. So that's being redone Monday. Tighter this time.

Good news is she's on the mend.

Eva is getting better. Saw her this evening and she's more mobile and was off the pain killers for a day. Had some mild ones today.

Only problem is she had a drink which brought on a coughing fit which she thinks has re broken her jaw.

She is still hoping to be out in 2 weeks, but I think it will be longer. Every day I see her she looks stronger, the good thing is her spirit is back.

Thanks for the lovely weekend Paul, really enjoyded it but not the hangover !!!! Eva is certainly on the mend. Now you need to sort yourself out, you seemed real low due the strains of the whole trauma. Was Eva able to sign over access to accounts to you ?

Thanks Timi, was good to see you as well.

No we can't get a lawyer into the hospital, they are either too busy or on holiday. Should get it done this week though. Eva can sign now and has been practicing. LOL

A much better picture of her now and one I think we can post here.

Eva is getting better everyday and hopefully will get the corset fitted this week, then the hospital will decide to move her to a rehabilitation ward. Then it could be as little as 2 weeks before they allow her home. I'm not sure about that but praying it's right.

While I was there the doctor who operated on her the night of the accident came into the ward to see how she was doing. He is amazed at her recovery. The joy in his face at seeing her so much better shows why these guys work like they do.

Eva was on her way to a school reunion, she was on the motorway the D1. This is from the eye witness report of a driver following her.

Eva was in the fast lane, left hand lane, and for no apparent reason veered over across the right hand lane, across the hard shoulder and hit the grass verge. Then she turned sharply back to the motorway causing the car to overturn many times and ended up going down the motorway 200 meters on it's roof. No other car was involved.

I also saw pictures the police took of her car and the video taken by the fire brigade afterwards. Eva is lucky to be alive and if she had put her seat a few inches higher she would not be. Or if she had not fought for her life while she was in hospital she would not be with us.

Eve remembers up to the point of us 3 out biking in the midday and the next thing she remembers is the ambulance crew telling her she had an accident then waking up in hospital ten day later. They did bring her around earlier but only 50%.

Eva leaves ICU this morning moving to Orthopaedics where she will start rehabilitation to get her muscles strong enough to walk. In a few days we will have a better idea of when she will leave hospital, could be 2 -3 weeks. Which is a miracle.

Her strength of will and body is what made the difference.

The next few months will be tough with me having to live and work on my own. I don't do well flying solo.

I got the power over our main bank accounts Friday, after spending all day running from Government office to office. The bureaucracy here is endless. But at least that's resolved. And I don't need to pay bills and staff with money I take out of the ATM machines.

What this has taught me is you can lose everything you prize in seconds with something you can't control. Or in something you should control over a period of weeks if you don't know exactly how your company is set up.

I am glad she is getting through it and it is exactly at these times when we learn the true depth of our feelings for each other. I hope that once she is through the worst you both find yourself stronger then ever.

She is on the road to recovery, over the trauma and her body is getting back to normal. This has been a tough time for me and her and hopefully we will come through it stronger people.

I know it has changed me.

I went to see her last night and her recovery is amazing. Eva can stand and even walk a few steps if you hold her hand, the nurses put her in a wheel chair so she could go shower and she is able to stand in the shower. It's a testament to her character, will and strength.

They put her straight to the rehabilitation ward and not to Orthopedics. Who knows she might be home for my birthday which will be the best present ever and after 58 of them I have had a few good ones. Eva is planning to be home for Sept 1st when our daughter goes to school for the first time.

I am very happy at last.

The latest news is Eva has now been moved to Rehabilitation and wears a specially made corset to sit up, stand and walk. Which is all pretty marvelous when you consider how she looked a couple of weeks ago. Everything is healing well and it's not more a matter of getting her muscles strong again.

I took our daughter into see her yesterday and Eva was very happy to see her. Our daughter was not shocked about her Mum which is good and thought the crew cut hair cut was funny, she kept stroking the bristles. Good visit.

The ward she's in closes down to give the staff a summer holiday, those who can go home will do and those who can't will move to another ward. Eva and I are hoping she will be in the first group. She will need looking after when she comes home, I can organise that.

Saw Eva last night, she walked to the door and asked if we would like to go sit in the rest area. I was too surprised to talk. Eva is walking on her own and resists any help, she does not need it and is determined to do it herself. We did hold hands though.

We went to the rest area and Eva has had the stitches out of her jaw so she can talk. And boy did she talk. LOL.

Saving the best news for last, she WILL come home next Friday. The doctors are so pleased with her progress they say she can leave in a week.

So I suppose that's it, the drama is over until I post pictures of Eva with me at home. And Eva posts a big thank you to everyone who supported us through this trying period.
