Economy to blame for crappy sales lately?

What are your thoughts as to why sales have been so bad lately. I don't see it getting any better. Anyone have some input on this topic?

Thanks.

I'd love to help you analyze this issue but you haven't given us enough info.

Are you a paysite owner or free site operator?

If free site, do you TGP? LL? AVS? Do you use an AVS with a content network/free hosting? How often do you change your marketing?

What niche?

If you're a paysite owner, how do you market? what niche? is the content exclusive?

Need more info before we can approach the general economy issue....if ever.

Personally I think it's a mixture of the economy, threat of war (which drives down the economy as well and people don't spend as friviously) as well as the pending Visa changes.

I'm 99% certain many processors have added more scrubbing to their databases to reduce chargeback ratios so visa doesn't start shutting down all their merchants. It's going to be a bumpy ride for a while.

Even with all those factors, if a webmaster has the technical issues covered by the questions I asked above, the bottomline income shouldn't dip too hard....or even at all!

I too have noticed the tighter scrubbing. I tested my cc on Ibill and it wouldn't go though. Worked on a ccbill site though. As for sales goes, I'm at an all time high!

I agree, it's not like things have bottomed out...but it's like summer started late this year =) I have a great Jun-Sep but Oct gave me about a 15% drop in sales so far...damage control is slowly fixing that though =)

I do about 75% TGP and 20% AVS traffic. Of course the other 5% is SE traffic. I mainly use ARS and SIC for sponsors.
