    The new G-Unit album...

    is, surprisingly, pretty good. I thought id give it a try, and im pleased to announce they spit mostly hard shit over grimey beats, instead of the usual whiney love songs that are made just for the mtv kids - it's like they finally stopped giving in to that crap and made their own shit, like the early 50 mixtapes...
    The first track sets the mood with a remake of NWA's straight outta compton, really didnt expect this album to be like this... lloyd banks even stopped mumbling! It's like they were very hungry again when they recorded these tracks. Pleasantly surprised

                  i wasnt a huge fan of it... its ok guess... maybe 6/10... hip hop is unfortunately dead... you can thank soldier boy and most of the southern rappers for that...

                                      Are you serious? The first single for this album, I Like The Way She Do It, is a club/girl song. They sold 56k before buying up to 40k extra right before the soundscans were in. I can't believe people are talking about G-Unit in 2008 and aren't laughing.

                                          oh come on look past the name i bet you havent even heard the whole album. and ofcourse the first single is a club song that's what record companies demand nowadays.. there's 1 or 2 of them on the whole album, and the one you mentioned isn't even that bad.

                                                  For example, eminem was forced to put a happy sounding song on the slim shady lp for a single, and it became 'my name is'. I saw an interview with eminem about the Marshall mathers LP, the whole album was finished but they wouldnt put it out because it needed another happy sounding song like 'my name is' as a single. So the last track he made for that album was 'the real slim shady' because he was forced - when you listen to the whole album that song absolutely doesn't fit in and is, naturally, the worst track of the album and in general a really really bad track.

                                                          I'm going to go check it out now, my "friend" gave it me. I'm not a big fan of G-Unit but they have some good songs...

                                                              I had a quick 20minute skip through the songs and it sounds pretty bad. None of the songs really stand out, G-Unit is the definition of generic.
