Its mainly hip hop. Its easy to explain. That music attracts the dumbest on this planet and since most people are fucking dumb they listen to this shit.
Find a dumb negro on the street who has been shot a couple of times, the dumber the better, the more he looks like a retarded ape the better for some reason, let him rap about bitches and gangs, get Timbaidiot to make a beat and there you go. occasionally there are new hip hop/R&B artists that are good, that have good lyrics, a beat that actually is good with good instruments that aren't electronic in nature. But then it gets drowned out by some guy wearing some funny styled hat, showing off a bandaid on his ass where a bulled grazed him and some jewelry we're supposed to think is made from platinum and diamonds. It's hard to pin down the birth of rock and roll, but the first rock and roll RECORDS preceded Elvis by half a generation, and were made by a fellow named Louis Jordan in the late 1940's.
The very fact that anyone finds Rock even listenable today is attributable to black music, since one of the key elements of Pop/Rock/etc - the minor 7th interval - was considered "dissonant" and "noise" toward the beginning of the twentieth century, nevermind stuff like the flat 5 (which we hear as "musical" after several generations of Jazz).Comment

I have to agree with the state of popular music sucking, and that the commercial hip hop is garbage...
However, Elvis was far from the man that invented rock music. Louis Jordan as mentioned had a hand in it, as did Chuck Berry and Little Richard. Elvis was the plagiarist that made it readily available to the whites.
It can be best summed up by a rapper named Eminem:

There are more morons in the world today then ever due to exponential growth and decline in value.
