    This was one of those domains I was led to believe I had bought by a certain domain seller 8 months ago, until I was later informed it was an auction process.

    Assholes. They've even extended the deadline to try and get more for it. Greedy fucks.

    If I could have flipped the domain for an 8K profit that would have been nice

                  I agree. Be glad you didn't bid for it.

                  About the only folks who will make any money is the .asia registry / registrars, and a few select folks with inside access to get marquee domains like business.asia and sex.asia.

                  .EU, while in my view is redundent to some degree, has some true utility in that it specifically refers to the European Union.

                  .ASIA on the other hand doesn't refer to anything that specific ... there's much disagreement / confusion as to what areas (some countries overlap with Europe) constitutes Asia let alone the issues of the diverse cultures / languages of Asia.

                  .ASIA will likely flameout much like .MOBI already has - check out the threads on DNForum and NamePros about folks bailing out of .mobi in droves.

                      fuck .asia, what's the deal with .info domains, do they get good $$ now or still suck, I have two very nice single word .info domains, and 3 crappy(ish) single word .info domains, if I can't sell the good ones for at least $10 000 I'm taking them with me to my grave, word!

                          I was always planning to flip the domains - but was given the impression by yo mummy that if the domain wasn't taken when I went to register it initially, it would be mine. I got in first day and thought I'd snagged half a dozen.

                          They're all fucked now.

                          Who the hell wants a .asia domain name? fucking useless LOL.
