new SATA card install requires a floppy drive? LOL, is this still common?

install requires creating a floppy disc that installs the software while booting from the windows xp install CD.

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!

the suckiest part is i just recently threw out a floppy drive thinking that by now there's no reason to keep it around.

I have never ever heard of this. My SATA drive enclosure came with an eSATA card for boards that don't have eSATA plugs in the back of the tower. Is it for a board that has no eSATA maybe? How weird!

You can't install XP onto a RAID array without a floppy, or a customized XP install disk. Sucks big time.

pretty normal even still, though XP setup shouldn't have any problem detecting a modern sata interface
