If I could easily make 30 grand cash every month in extra income off of the "good guys" with just a simple text link that should give you a clue right there.

Now talking about the pre-paid spots you see on Tubes? I had offers of 20 grand a month from one of our favorite dating sites. And that was when ampland had around 800,000 uniques a day.

The dating sites weren't interested in sales. They were interested in numbers. And building a brand. Which eventually led to their big half billion dollar sale.

And that is how tube sites make money. Pre-paid spots. Nobody is selling anything off of those sites. It's just a numbers game that leads to big money down the line for the companies that buy those spots. Gives 'em fake numbers to use to make real money somewhere else.

The guys who did it already have made their money. Smart. But now all the johnny-come-latelies are gonna have a much harder time trying to pull that same stunt because the very foundation of this trick is empty. No sales. As penthouse is apparently finding out now that their paysites are falling fast.

It's a cool game of smoke and mirrors for the advertisers on tube sites. But eventually money has to be MADE and not just scammed. I wouldn't give a shit about any of it except for the fact that it's KILLING legit sales to so many sites now.

Excellent post...

robbie is right - i know for a fact they're making bank of ad buys - they don't have to worry about converting sales -

As long as they have big traffic, some sponsors will always invest on them, buying ads and such.

I see that as the main reason why they can be profitable.

That's a good point, but as you already said, that game can't be played by small/mid sized webmasters. And supports my theory that most tubes can't/couldn't cover their BW bill with just "normal" sponsor sales. (I'm talking about illegal tubes here, with fullsize movies.)

I read if youtube wasnt bought by google, they would of had serious money problems. They were drowning in bw bills. Now after the Viacom hit, which will show people go to youtube more times to look at unlicensed content than someones home movies.

New tubesites are popping out everyday. Good if you have any better ideas.

Well they also weren't founded in "a garage" but had like 8 mil. of VC available for the start as far as I have heard..

Yes but the bw kept burning thru any VC they raised.

That's also wrong. Yes the bw is higher on a tube site but the tubes only buy the cheapest bw possible at the lowest prices thus the profit is tiny for the hosts. Tubes came on fast and are also dying fast as they are simply geared to freeloasers and generate less profit for all involved than any other type of porn.:2 cents:

too many casual surfers learn immediately that it "should all be free"

What kills me is a-holes that deliberately post your full length vids. I consider that drawing a line in the sand.

Most definitely. And NA has been hit harder than damn near anybody else. Full movies everywhere, and it's killing your sales. You definitely need to get the policing of it stepped up asap.
I don't think I've ever met you before. Are you going to be in Vegas with Mark?

But you forget that there are companies like AFF and other dating/cam companies that are willing to toss down money for branding. As long as redtube or the like have full length vids they will have traffic, and traffic is what people like AFF want.
