A lot of cities have ordnance's but in most cases as long as it's not extremely dry out from no rain, the cops ignore it on the 4th. There are Firework stores all over, it's a funny catch 22. They are aloud to sell them but you aren't supposed to use them. In some places you actually have to sign a paper stating you wont use them. :1orglaugh

Couple of years ago I wanted to put on a display in my yard for my GF and her kids. Being new to the area, I thought I'd check first, so I called the cops.

Cops response: (Cue Southern accent) 'Well, yeah, it's illegal, but we don't go lookin fer it, unless we git a complaint. Then we'll just tell ya'll to quit. We won't arrest ya, it is the Forth of July after all.'

We can buy fireworks up here from the native Indian reserves prior to Canada day, Halloween and I believe New Years .. but zoning buy laws make it pretty tough to get away with a decent fireworks show .. I would personally talk to someone at the local city hall about getting a permit or something along those lines and if you find it easy .. fuck you could pull one weekly just to piss el'copper off ... :)

What was nice is it rained yesterday afternoon just long enough to get everything wet, then stayed overcast. Was fantastic for fireworks. We had a cop stop about a block away, but never came down to us. Thank god because between me a another guy we had around 150 artillery shells, 750shot flag battery missiles, he had 1/4 TNT, and all sorts of other shit. Yet No cops. Needless to say, our 4th was fantastic :)
