Wacom Graphics Tablet Question...

Hi everyone

Just wondered if anyone has experience with any of the Wacom products. I will be using it mainly to re touch photos but possibly using for basic design purposes (banners etc nthing too complex). I have been looking online and am torn between the Intuos and Bamboo Fun. I like the look of the Bamboo and it seems to have good reviews but is it good enough to use for photo editing or only for 'hobbyists'? I know the Intuos is the more 'professional' one but my websites aren't super professional and 'polished' they are more amateur so what do you think i should go for?

Does anyone have experience with either or ideally both models and if so what is your advice?

Thanks in advance to all who can advise.

Had an Intuos 4x6 for a year, then donated it to a college graphic artist who was much better at GD than I am.

Quite frankly, the novelty wore off. Unless you're working some serious graphic design hours, I would recommend the Bamboo. If you like the experience you always can sell it then upgrade to the Intuos (bigger is indeed better).

Personally I found myself still using the mouse to edit, although the pen was great at creating a new drawing.

YMMV.

I had an old Intuos and for Christmas last year got one of the new Bamboo tablets. Aside from the new one being a bit smaller (it fits in my laptop carrying case) they're pretty much the same.

I have the Intuos 6x8 tablet, and I don't know how I ever lived without it..

I don't do any GD, but do photo retouching, and it's increased productivity and retouch quality by leaps and bounds.
