So I fucked up (again) and got Sashimi...

I thought sushi was the rolled up ones, and sashimi were slices of fish on top of a chunk of rice...

I was wrong, again.. Dunno why I forgot.. But sashimi is just... pieces of fish, no rice!!

Fuuuuck.. I can never eat this much fish by itself and come away like the first one was as good as the last one.. It's a fucking chore!

So I decided fuck it... I'm gonna fry these up.. Worked like a charm! Small little salmon and tuna steaks... mmmmmmm

hehe nice! I can't eat sashimi either...

        sushi - fish on rice
        sashimi - only fish
cut roll - roll that's cut up
hand roll - not cut (like burrito)

hand rolls are bomb with soy paper

Mmmmm I love sashimi, it's great because you don't fill up on tasteless stuff like rice.

This one place in vancouver has all you can eat with no limits on sashimi, and the salmon is wild sockeye (obviously black market). I love going for lunch and order 30 pieces of it.

nigiri = fish on ball of rice
sushi = fish in the rice with some nori
Roll = Rolls made ussually with nori and fillings, then cut.
            Sashimi = sliced fish
Hand rolls = same as roll just not ussually cut

I hate nori so I always ask for soy wrappers/paper.

What he said. As my wife is Japanese we eat a lot of it. Good quality here in Sydney. Not a patch on the stuff in Japan though

I love sushi...and one of the best Japanese resturant's outside of Japan that I have ever been to is Tojo's in Vancouver.

If you go there, try the Omakase - basically there is no menu, the Chef creates a special meal for you, after talking with you for awhile...and it is to die for!!!

I'll be up there near the end of July if any Vancouver people want to get together for an unforgettable Japanese meal.
