You can submit different titles and descriptions to every of them if you're looking for more quality backlinks from directories.

They will be indexed and will get PR as well.

How will the directories build pr when none of the backlinks go to them?

It's 20 nearly identical directories, hardly anyone will vary their description text so everything will be the same on them. Eventually google will consider them a "bad neighbourhood" and your sites will get pulled down right with them.

i'm guessing that the abc linking will be randomised so that all the directories will get links pointing to them, just not direct links. so he'll get pr fairly quick. i won't use it either but for some people it looks good.

Directories are getting backlinks aswell. Just not from you.
So this will stay as ABC directories.

If you'd link to directories, then that would be AB, I can find a lot directories with AB style.

Umm yeah... In fact when I do a blog, I only submit on 3 sites and get listed on about 30-38 directories. Regardless, having another bulk submit place is great.. Now I can do 4 submits and get listed on 50-58 sites.. yay!!!

ohhhhhh.. I see what you've done there... You link to my blog from 20 directories but I link to 10 altogether different sites.. now that's pretty nice.. But those 10 sites had better be legal, non-controversal and never end up being a "bad neighborhood" or there would be hell to pay.
