That's interesting, I thought Yipes was affiliated with or similar to Cogent. I don't know, do the math. $169 x 12 = $2028 per year. That type of computer costs $700, leaving them with $1300. If 100mbit from Yipes is $3000 per month? That gives them 31,640 gigs if they were at 100% utilization. That makes their cost per gig about .10
So, let's say you use all your bandwidth too. $40/mo. in their cost X 12 months = $480. Now they're at $820 in gross profit for the year not including factoring in what they pay their staff, networking costs like routers and stuff, advertising, colocation space. That stuff isn't cheap. If it's not cogent or an equivalent, their cost for bandwidth is 2-3x what I quoted above at best. Do the math, if it seems to good to be true don't you think it probably is? Good luck! Brad

I've had only bad experiences with them. I was running my mainstream sites on there for about 2 years. When everything is running smoothly, their servers are very fast and reliable. However, they seem to have problems every couple months, I had to switch servers 3 times within those 2 years because of configuration problems, and each time I had to migrate everything over myself.
Their customer support is pretty much shit as well. They are fast on the replies, but it seems like they just dont care, since issues are fixed half-assed or never fixed untill 4 or 5 emails later. Maybe I just had bad luck with them, but I personally wouldn't reccommend them to anyone. |

The place where you got that offer from returns close to 200 comments if searched for webreseller
Asking THERE might be smarter than posting a webreseller "question" here every 2nd day ![]() |
