CCBill and EU webmasters

The deadline for signing up on the new VISA regs, is coming closer and closer. I have CCBill as my 1st processor, and Glo-bill as my backup processor. 98% of all my rebills lies with CCBill, and have also found CCBill to have the best support of the processors I have used, so I really want to stay with them.

But I have one big question that they NEVER seem to answer, I have sent them several e-mails, but still no answer on that question...

So therefore I ask all you EU webmasters (billing with CCBill), do any of you know the answer to this question:

- Since we are in the EU region, do we still have to incorporate in the US?? Makes no sense to me...

I hope to get the answer to this before the deadline, or else it would be too late to incorporate if *absolutely* needed...

Please don't tell me to swith over to some other processor, I want to stay with CCBill, as long as possible. Been thinking abit of Vertotel as a last solution, but I've heared rumours that their support sux bigtime...Good support means ALOt to me.

If your processor has a merchant account in the EU and you yourself are a citizen in the EU, you will not need a US company.

Thanks for your answer!

...Now do anyone know if CCBill DO have a merchant account in EU, or are they just *planning* to open it?

I also want to know about the $750 outside of the US, it's only US VISA that are charging the $750US and CCBill are saying that we will be using different banks from what US incorporated members are using and not VISA US at all. Why do we have to pay?

SandraWang this is what I've got back from the people at CCBill

----------
We are suggesting that you register your business on the forms under the USA Corporation for several reasons:

Processing with non-US based banks may involve a higher processing fee (our best deals are with US banks) that we will incur when we set up the processing in the EU and Asian processing districts. Being a US based company insures you the US processing rate, rather than being subject to the uncertain rates charged by banks in the other international regions.
----------

They are suggesting it but they're not entirly sure what we need.

From what I heard, they have not finalized the setup yet, however they are actively working on setting one up.

Someone mentioned they already have a EU merchant account, but it seems odd that they have not exactly confirmed that themselves.

My interpretation is that they advise registering a US company and use VISA USA for future processing rather then not setting up a US company and using VISA EU due to the possible higher processing rates.

To be honest, I don't believe they are giving their clients the complete information package.

Hmmm...well the $750 it's not a big problem for me, but the fact that they might force us to incorporate in the US bothers me. Of those incorp services I checked out, seemed like I had to pay nearly $1000 to get a Nevada corp from a service that seemed serious... Wouldn't want to pay $300 to buy a LLC from some shitty website I know nothing about, I could get screwed...

Anyway it would be a mess of paperwork and shit, and since the deadline is so close now, the time for setting up a corp is running out....

If I just knew I didn't have to incorp in the states everything would be fine with me...

Yeah the $750 isn't a worry. I just wanted to know why we have to pay it if we're not using the service.

Any way heres a lot of info about US company and all the problems that you will have if you're going to set one up

Probably the best thing to do is to form a US LLC and have that as an option. But if you're doing a high enough volume CCBill can lower their fees to make up any difference in EU processing costs.
