I got too much to say on this topic. But I will say I HATE the designers on this forum.
And i'm normally a good guy when it comes to designers i'm not competitive and i am on a bunch of other design forums.
But the designers on this forum...

The big problem is the ass kissers telling the designer their work looks great and is awesome blah blah blah...
They believe it! so they keep posting and doing the same...

Good designers are always busy and you have to wait in line to get them to work for you.

so you people that are complaining open up your pocket book a little more and get yourself a quality designer. you cant want to cut prices all the time and expect a quality designer. because exactly as you said also quality designers have a long line of people who are willing to pay just to be on that list.Comment

I'm not one of those guys though
I had 2 people tell me i had a 2 week wait.
But i finally found someone who's only taken 3 days so far & we're almost done. I'm very happy with the work so far.Comment

Most of them aren't even designers and/or have no real design sensibility.
There are a few gems, but for the most part there are a lot of hacks who downloaded Photoshop for free somewhere and found a few tutorial sites.Comment

I think most of them are rouge "designers" who left the outsourcing firm they were making pennies on the dollar at. Once they get hip to how much money they could make, if they had their shit together, they leave and attempt to do it on their own.Comment

My b/f does all our designs so I have never had to deal with one but I think there's a few good ones and and 1 or 2 GREAT ones. They know who they are so I don't have to name them.

+1 for designers who once worked for outsourcing companies and then go out on their own. I also noticed many are from the PI whenever I contact them for samples and stuff like dat. That's how I know they use to be outsourced workers. Some of those PI designers have mad skills though, while a majority just throw up a hack design. The quality PI designers that left the outsourcing companies that I get my sites done from I lock up in my closet and only let them out when I need more design work done so no one else can use them.

That's not true. I knew a designer who did work equal to any of the top design places.. even in better in some cases and even charged hundreds less but never got much work until he started promoting his site outside of online adult forums in all the major cities like LA , NY etc..
Marketing is the key to get any business.. 90% of these dumb designers you see posting on forums trying to get work without spending any money advertising and just sit around fighting over scraps on message boards..Comment
