As much as I hate stolen content and sites that give it all way, the real reason sales are in the toilet is the loss of customer confidence thanks to all the popular companies that hit them for multiple prechecked hidden cross sales (nevermind the ones that aren't even on the join page, or the 1-click emails that get sent out after).

RTMPE is what you want to research, and no you can't stop them from using capturing software to get the video. However which is more likely to be ripped. A link they can click and download the full quality video, or someone that has to sit and record a full movie and wait for each movie to play through? That can't be done via automation, and is time consuming. You can never really stop them per say, but you can make it too much of a hassle. :winkwink:

Were losing WAY more customers because of shitty sales tactics by top sponsors here than boards like that.

Just got an email from a visitor of us with a complaint about this. Signed up myself and unchecked the crossale boxes (2 of them) and was suprised to see I did signup for them after all + another bonus site added. Sponsor currently under investigation to see what more pops up. Total loss sofar about $120 on a trial $2.95 signup

That is true. But that doesn't mean we need to stop going after boards, illegal tube sites, etc. that give away stolen sponsor content for free. The shady sales tactics are immoral, but probably somehow legal so it's pretty hard to battle them except to call these sponsors out publicly.

However, having entire members' areas ripped and put on a message board for download is illegal, so it can easily be taken care of.
