SHould the Adult Industry consider a new TLD?

Not like the one those hacks in Britain tried to pull with .sex either.
Something tangible, transpearent and something that can protect our content and enforce copyrights while combating minors that infilatrate sites or surf free porn.

I think an Adult TLD would be really good for the industry, it would have a global effect.

    For example.
Each registration results in proper representation and lobbying, a organization that regulates and an administrative portion that verifies compliant adult TLD's and a portion of it dedicated to combating piracy on adult related sites.

That would be pretty fucken sweet IMHO. Maybe a year or two from now it will happen, but something serious has to happen. I for one believe this industry is shit canning itself. We can make less and less together or start protecting what people are willing to pay for I am an advocate of self enforced regulation and the only way for that to really happen is to have an enforcing body at the source with a TLD.

Just throwing the idea out there and it would be great of the big guys if they got together and made something forth comming and helpful to real business and webmasters not some greed based machination?

Could you get behind something like this?

I'd like to have a website online where every surfer was a verified adult by credit card check.

Define. At what point does a site become adult?

          Babes in tight tops
          Sheer clothing
          NN with nip slips
          Bare boobs
          Full frontal softcore nude
          Toys and masturbation
          Hardcore fucking

          ?

Just like the past attempts, you have too much opportunity for corruption and control.

Put frankly, I would not trust 'the bros' with my interests. Based on what I have seen in over a decade on the net, there is no way in hell I would trust these guys with my business interests.

You do not have to go far in the thought process to realize with today's dropping ratios for some 'bro' companies, and loss of sales, they would tip the scale to put them in a better position than smaller companies, and mom and pops.

Put bluntly can't think of a single 'big guy' who has the whole adult industry's best interest at heart. We've seen time and again people on the boards, and around, who would stab their grandma in the back for a nickel... zango, tubes, traffic sources, content and so on.

Yeah, these are not the people I would trust my livelihood to.

While your position makes sense in theory. I simply do not think it's going to be a realistic possibility you will get the industry to, as a whole, endorse.
