people are pist because they have to pay more and dunno wtf (especially those that live above their means or at their very end paycheck to paycheck)
but how is taxing the company providing the gas, yet not in control of the global price going to solve anything??? |

This has been a most interesting read.. who wants coffee?

They also own the shipping company that brings the oil by boat to the US = more profit. Then they own the trucking companies that bring it to the refinery. = more profit Then they own the refineries = more profit. Back to that same trucking company = more profit Then they own the property that they lease out to the station owners, but they set the prices and how they set up the stores. If they don't follow the rules they are out. = more profit. So you see mr. simple there is more to it than the gallon of gas. |
Here's another nice bit of info on how the oil companies are not only screwing us, but also the owners of the stations.
Your friends at Exxon/mobil have a computer system in place in all their stations that knows exactly what the owner is doing. Most owners make about 2¢ a gallon for pumping it into your car. Let's say the owner wants to make an extra 1¢ a gallon to try and make just a little more money, not so fast says big brother. As soon as he raises his gas price Exxon raises the price of what they are charging by the same amount. Now isn't that nice. The little guy can't get ahead, but don't worry about Exxon. They get their cake and a tax break too. |

It is more and more common in huge corp. They split up in numerous small corps, then they all cry they make little profit. Here in Canada, Bell Canada did that to screw the users, the shareholders and the unions. Banks were OK tough ... :) |

Er. This is very wrong. BUYERS are SPECULATING they will be able to SELL HIGHER... buyers are buying.. sellers are selling.. there is no difference right now compared to ten years ago except the market is waking up to peak oil. There is no coercion.. Is it irrationally high right now? Sure.. the market isn't always right, but it should and needs to be nearly this high (it'll probably settle closer to $100) You currently have a relatively free market oil price... if you want to talk distortion try the trillion dollars a year America spends on oil, I mean national security. |

This just in from our energy department. Not we are working on a solution, or we need to work together to consume less and bring the prices down. What did they say.....

You obviously have no idea about oil companies. Seriously. Look on your local index, there should only be a couple of hundred. |
It's true there has been a lot of consolidation but the small cap oil and gas market is as vibrant as ever... especially with the high price making more fields economic and more start ups attracting more investors to go after them.

as you are hoping for change, im actually enjoying the present... as you want bigger government to take care of you, i want smaller government and i want to take care of myself. its obvious you are just a worker.... i own multiple businesses and generate lots of income. i can see how our outlooks on life differ, and i cant be mad at you for your lifes situation.. but understand this....................., that there are people who actually enjoy life, love this country, have morals and values, have money and assets, and can THINK AND TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES without the involvement of government. so please take this into consideration, whenever you try to bash me or anyone else who thinks independently and disagrees with your opinions and try to at least pretend to have an ounce of intelligence. |

Look at the keyboard warrior again mr. .net man. I have domains older than you! So if you made so much money before you were 21, how did you go to that great school you have talked about? It's funny how you can't even keep your story straight. I also have found out as I have gone thru life that the people who are doing well normally don't talk about it. The ones that do are normally over their heads in debt and are talking the talk, but in the end are broke. As for the gov doing things for me, don't worry your little brain about me. I am fine, but like I stated above, the people that are really doing well start to think about the people that aren't, and try to use their wealth and influence to help the less fortunate. I come of gfy to have fun with big time warriors like you. You seem to come hear to scream at how important you are. Sort of a small penis thing for you isn't it. Ok I will play along, you are a bazillionaire living in Miami. Lemme guess you live in a 1 bedroom million dollar condo in north miami:1orglaugh |

first of all, i dont know what school you are refering to? second.. i have actually been on here usually around this time lately because i am working on a project with global partners which makes me have to stay up late to accomodate the different time zone differences.. so im watchin tv and on my laptop just fucking around here to kill time.. but once again your attempt at bashing me has failed, i havent once rubbed in your face the amount of money i make or the things i have... i am not that petty, nor i have no need to impress idiots. finally.. people who have actually worked hard for their money and are living comfortably dont necessarily want to take care of freeloaders, lazy asses and degenerates. if they do want to take care of them, they donate to charities.. which i do.. which i do not feel the government should MAKE me do.. i will do it voluntarily if i choose. this just shows that you have no idea of how successful people think. you are absolutely delusional. |

you are too much dood... you are an absolute lunatic moron is that the best you can do? you really live a sad meaningless existence. i cant begin to imagine what kind of delusional anti social basement life you lead. i better stop fucking with you, you obviously are out of your mind, you have serious mental issues and you are the type of psychotic nutjob that will try to kill me for making you realize how pathetic your life is. seriously man, you need to get help. i believe before you said you are 30 years older than me so you are nearing 60 and this is how you behave???? you are a danger to yourself and to society. im telling you this as a concerned citizen and someone who cares for their fellow man. your delusional outlook on the world, your support of left wing revolutionary ideas and your distrust of government and corporations paints a disturbing picture of a down on his luck maniac nutcase sitting in his basement with a tin foil hat and an automatic weapon. i seriously think you should seek professional mental help and maybe things might change for you. life is not bad because of george bush. its because you have personally failed.. there is nothing obama can do that will change your life situation. you need to do that on your own by first seeking professional mental help. then you can move on with your life and start seeing how it is not that bad.... money isnt everything and that life and the USA is good. once again, im not saying this to be an asshole or anything, i really think you are a disturbed individual and i am worried about the possible outcomes of what you might do to yourself and others if you start really thinking about what i am saying and admit to yourself that its true. |

No I am not 60, then again you can't seem to add. Don't worry about me and my lovely family of 4. We live a VERY comfortable life on both coasts. You on the other hand live in that shithole of Miami. I lived there and was in the thick of the fashion industry at the time, and still hated it. Fucking shittiest city in the states and the worst people. Nothing but fucking scumbags and scammers. Wait I now see why you like it. Once again, don't worry about me. I made my money in this biz and got out when the market was still high. You on the other hand are stuck with your .net 80's style shitty little link list. You go guy. I on the other hand have moved on to better things and just come here to laugh and fucks like you. I actually love when you post because you are almost as stupid as 12 clicks, but he has a real biz so props to him. Good luck with the .net empire:thumbsup |

On top of that, do you know that they can do other stuff with oil besides make gasoline? Seriously, I can't believe you are arguing this stuff. Open a financial report from any major oil company and see where their profit margins are. Blame your government for putting up to 50 cents worth of taxes on each gallon of gasoline while they spend it on some bullshit war in Iraq. |
The government gives oil companies handouts, fuck tax breaks. Theres no reason the a subsidy for a company making 40+bil.
The government does need some regulation over the people or the divide between classes will grow even further, all the people that are uneducated selling drugs will be robbing you more and more because there will be more of them, there will need to be more jails (when college for these kids selling drugs would be cheaper than housing them for life if someone gave a fuck about them). So RobFantasy, when your in your condo in Miami and take a trip down to south beach and get held up at gun point by a couple 17 yr old kids that will MAYBE get caught and MAYBE go to jail for a year because of over crowding and do it to you again a couple years down the line. Instead of having them get some kind of education and some decent programs that are put together to help them out, lets continue this path. It seems to be working well considering Violent Crime in miami is up! AWESOME. |
