RIP Jim McKay!

McKay died Saturday, said ABC, the network with which he was long affiliated. The cause of death was not immediately given.

Hell of a great sportscaster. I remember listening to that '72 newscast he did during the Olympics in Munich.

ABC's Wide World of Sports was one of my fav shows growing up.

McKay's distinctive voice and complete knowledge, and in many cases total passion, for the sports that he announced, made him one of the greatest sports broadcasters ever.
