Designers/Photoshop People...Question

Does anyone have a tutorial on "ground breaking effect".

I have some 3D text I want it took look like it smashed down and cracked the ground around it.

No work here.. just a question.

Someone on here had an avatar of their software box smashing into the ground. Thats the exact effect I'm trying to create. That fucker needs to get in here and tell me how he did it.

That was Airek he's going to rofl when you tell him you like it.

You can get this look by drawing the basic shape of the "Smash" and then use layer styles to add the depth...
