    anyone host with layeredtech? huge price increase

    layeredtech have just put up their prices by 28% which is ridiculous. i've got 2 servers with them and will be looking around for a new provider soon.

              I used to host with them, but they kept hiking the price by a few % every 6 months. Which is ridiculous, cos my server specs never got hiked to go with the price increase. Been free of them for over 2 years now. Quite happy with OC3.

                      Don't forget your server hardware would have also been depreciating and written off after a year.

                      Seems very strange that a host would consistently put up pricing when the trend (since I've been buying hosting anyway) has typically been in the opposite direction.

                                      Very strange to have prices go up when typically every company is dropping prices due to cheaper hardware and cheaper bandwidth... however, the cost of electricity is rising... so maybe that's what they are figuring it? Hard to say. If you are unhappy though, shop around.

                                              yep pretty crazy, but they must have factored in the amount of people that are going to leave them, when they made this decision. apparently they very recently bought fastservers.net so i'm guessing there trying to pay for that.

                                              anyway i'll need to get organized before i make the switch, but will post my requirements on gfy for a quote and contact the people offering hosting in this thread.
