How often to you have you digital cameras crap out on you?

I had 3 different cameras (Nikon, Fuji and Canon) crap out on me in 2 years. Fuji and Canon with errors that according to Google searches were caused by sand in the lens. I was not anywhere near sand at that time. Nikon just stopped working. Anybody else have my luck with digital cameras?

Sony cameras all the way....I had two mavicas.....but back then, the screens were made of glass and I kept cracking them....

Then I had a short time with a Fuji point and shoot camera but it crapped out on me within a year and change..I was GLAD when that camera broke because I'm too cheap to buy anything new until my previous unit breaks...

I have a sony cybershot with a 1G memory card now....works like a charm.

Still waiting for my JVC digital videocamera to crap out so I can finally buy something new....But the JVC has been hanging in there for 8 years.

Dropped my old Olympus e10 down a 30' rocky slope into a dry riverbed - banged the hell outta it but luckily didn't shatter the lens. It worked fine another 6 months, then konked out.

Had it rebuilt back to factory spec - and its still workin' great. We're over a half million shots with it at this point.

I went through two Canon Rebels in the course of two years. A lot of cameras don't have a very long shutter life. If you take a ton of photos, chances are your shutter will shit out soon enough unless you have a higher-end model.

Nothing sucks more than being in the middle of a shoot and having your shutter just... stop working.

I've had a few VX2100s go down on me but its usually because of lots of sweat dripping all over them.

But I keep buying them because outside of water, they are pretty tough machines.
