Zelda is permanently burned into my Brain. A while back I heard a radio commercial that used some sound effects from Zelda and took me right back. I don't mean just a memory, but like an intense flashback. Very weird.
Anybody remember a game called Base Wars? It was a stupid game where robots played baseball but if there was a close play, you would fight and the fights were so hilarious. Me and my friends would stay up late and play that game just cracking up over the fight scenes.

f-zero and zelda, i love the drifts you can pull on f-zero and the secret super jumps to cut corners. Zelda...now that was a very happy time in my life, in the school holidays staying up late playing at night not a care in the world.
Loved having my own home version of streetfighter2 turbo on the snes too, got real good and then went to the arcades to kick some ass, well that was the plan.... couldn't translate the moves to joystick with ken and ryu so had to stick with guile.
The pads for the snes were shit so had to get the 3rd party ones really.Comment

I remember shaving my head for a game.. at the time 50$ and I was a kid.. game was called lola.. had to move shit around and solve puzzles.. zelda my dad rented for 2 weeks before giving in and bought the damn thing. digdug, mario brothers... spent weeks on that getting the highest score possible.. even had a collection of nitendo power magazine since first 1.. till like 150 or some shit.Comment

I spend way more time on my junkers than any new system. with the big rise in 3d graphics, games have become very cookie cutter, and the focus on delivering a game with great gameplay over a game with huge amazing graphics has really killed my interest in most games. I had an xbox 360, an dit was sweet ya, but the wii is way better. simply due to the innovation they have going on in their new games. goos gameplay trumps good graphics any day.Comment
