I have a share in a CSA (community supported agriculture). It's pretty cool and the veggies rock.

I used to use a home delivery service but found I wasn't really saving any money or time.

Exactly! Most of the things are organic:

unless you're in the hippy stores I'd say 99% of it is purely a scam. I hit farmers markets for fruits and things like that.

Organic is too expensive. We just get our 'organic' stuff from our neighbor's victory garden.

I pay for corn cans.. I'm addicted to corn.

So that's about it, only thing worth paying extra for.
The taste is really better.

I only buy veggies at the farmers market, and here in SoCal, they're all certified organic or they can't sell there. Means we only eat what is in season now, but at least in SoCal there's a huge growing season so we get a lot of stuff all year.

My market has a huge amount of space dedicated to organic and I'll often buy from it.

There are some great locally grown potato's, tomato's, lettuces of many types.. stuff like that. Basically whatever vegetables I buy are 99% local and organically grown. They take pride in buying from local farmers, and often feature the farms and farmers and methods in their sale flyers.

For the people who dont even believe that there is such a thing as "organic".. wow.. just wow, lmao.

Them fleshy/human ones that chill on street corners.

I get all my vegetables from my dad's garden. Other than me growing veggies in my own garden, you can not get more organic than that!

In studies -- there has been found to be zero difference between organic and non-organic fruits and vegetables. The only fruits that seemed to benefit from not being treated with pesticides are soft skin fruits such as peaches, etc.

I think the organic market is a cash grab -- where the retailers mark-up the organic produce to make a bigger margin. The large retailers are not paying more for the produce -- but the shopper does.

I only buy organic from farmer's markets, but buy pretty much everything...it ranges from tomatoes to potatoes and corn. The organic roma tomatoes at Sunflower Market are the best I've tasted since growing up on a farm in Wyoming...

I love broccoli but I don't really care if it's organic. It's just whatever is accessible or near me I get usually, unless it looks nasty or something.

Organic veggies and fruit taste so much better, I buy ALL my food organic, It's nice to prepare a meal and know that there are NO hormones, antibiotics or pesticides in it. I can taste the difference when I eat out- I abuse my body enough, the least I can do is nourish it when I am home.

its all in your head.... you can't taste the hormones they pump into it... Eating out is always hell on your body so if you're comparing eating out to a nice home cooked meal there's never going to be a comparison unless you're paying 10x too much for the food.

I can taste your bowlshit from here- I love when people tell me HOW I FEEL about something. Just because YOU can't afford the yummy organic stuff or the over priced fancy meals don't take it out on me dude.

Spinach and Peaches. These are products that often contain the most pesticides. Most other's aren't very different.

For my 4 year old it's a little different. She gets organic milk and most meats are without hormones.

there's new research on that:

Quote:
Study hails organic food benefits

Organic food has a higher nutritional value than ordinary produce, a study by Newcastle University has found.

A team grew fruit, vegetables and reared cattle on adjacent organic and non-organic sites across Europe.

They found up to 40% more antioxidants could be found in organic fruit and vegetables than in non-organic.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/7067226.stm

we grow our own tomatoes, and we only buy organic fruit and vegatables, meat and milk for our baby.
