    Why do Christians and Catholics rag on Mormons and Scientologists?

    Just because their religion was made up after yours was and there is proof it is all bullshit, and there is no one alive to tell you the Bible was a clever children's story.. what gives you the right to rag on others beliefs when yours is just as insane and stupid?

    Almost every religious person I have met hates the other group. Like Jehovas and Catholics.

    I don't get it... you're all morons who believe in invisible magical men. What's the real difference?

                      I don't really have a problem with Mormons aside from thinking they are weird... Scientologists are fucking insane though and are not in the same "group" as Mormons. Jehovah's Witness are pretty nutty as well... really nutty.

                          They're all fucked up, a religion is just a cult without a living leader. I don't understand how any intelligent person can believe in God and "religious miracles".

                          It's easy for people to say "I believe in God" but do you think if they were putting their life savings down on a bet their answer be the same, or would that force them to put some thought and logic into it?

                          Believing isn't something you CHOOSE to do, it's what you know in your head to the best of your knowledge. Any person with half a brain knows that many stories depicted in the bible are physically impossible, yet people can still BELIEVE that they happened? I don't think so.

                                  I'm suspicious of any group of people, no matter if based on religion or whatever, who think there is a single way that ALL people should do things in life. It shows a profound lack of understanding of human nature and, I believe, is the first step in being able to dehumanize others in your mind.

                                  Some religious people seem to see the whole thing as some sort of superiority cult, so it's no surprise that they look down on each other. Someone has to be below you for you to be on top, right?

                                                                                  Because the entire purpose of some religions (as opposed to faith) is to congregate like-minded people, and "convert" the misguided outsiders to the CORRECT way of exercising faith to the correct god with the correct rituals.

                                                                                  Religions are the wedges that seperate people from each other and over time instill tolerance of violence. The body is just a vessel, by murdering the body, you're helping release the soul. It's totally fucked up. The disagreements are mostly in how each church is run.

                                                                                                                                                                                              Demo: We are a secular society!

                                                                                                                                                                                              Repub: We must not raise taxes, and we must lower them for the rich! (Which they accomplish by running up deficits that rich people and foreign nations benefit from).

                                                                                                                                                                                              Demo: We must eliminate the deficit (on the backs of the working middle class through new taxes), while preserving loopholes for the special interests that fund our campaigns.

                                                                                                                                                                                              I could go on, but that is bascially the gist...

                                                                                                                                                                                              Meanwhile, the problems which plague us all, such as the environment, international stability, crime, poverty, and other injustices get minor lip-service and little action.

                                                                                                                                                                                              What we need, and lack, are people with the vision and voice (the ability to broadcast their message), to address the issues that affect us all, and to instill us with a broader awareness of what makes us alike, and not what divides us. Those who are willing to compromise for the good of us all and our little blue planet...
