I love how people take their political opinions here and state them as fact. This one can't win, that one won't make it, blah blah blah. You have your opinion and you're surfing the web looking for things to reinforce what you already believe. I could use that same strategy to make a compelling case for creationism, or that global warming is a myth, but that doesn't make either of those things true. |

Hillary supporters are saying that now because they want her in....but when it actually comes down to it you guys wouldnt make the same mistake again would you? would you? how much shittier do things have to get before the other side gets a shot

I think that McCain has had a fairly free ride to date. We'll see who he picks as his running mate. I think this will make a big difference.
I think that the Dem ticket will be OBillary. In this case I don't think the Republicans can win and in reality even the hardest line Republican pundants will admit that. |

This election will be a mandate on the last 8 years. McCain is just a lamb to the slaughter. The repubs know they can't win and need to regroup with a new plan in 4 years. So here ya go mac, it's your turn to run you old fuck. Even the conservative talk shows are saying november could be worse than after Nixon and watergate.:1orglaugh Get used to it redneck bitches.....President Barack Obama |

You can say it's a "fact" that she is polling better in certain states right now against McCain. That's true....but you're trying to extrapolate that to a "fact" that says Obama will lose in November. She has always and will always poll better in those states than Obama. When it comes to the south and industrial midwest John Edwards polls better than both of them. So what? Obama's electoral map has always been different than hers. Besides, polls done this far out are meaningless. If they were an indicator of who would win, Hillary would have won every primary by 20+ points, and Michael Dukakis, Ross Perot, and John Kerry all would have been President. |

Was Dukakis every ahead in the polls? I dont recall that one, but I was pretty young back then, could of been. |

Ron Paul was not ever taken seriously by the media is why he fell off the face of the earth. The influence of television on american elections is far greater than it might look.
Polls only matter when the big media companies use them in their spin before millions of viewers. Their comments posed in the form of questions. Otherwise nobody knows anything about them. Who gives a shit if a tree falls in the woods if nobody is around to hear it is the point. |

Obama rallies are flat out huge, people are excited about him. No other politician in the country can match what he's doing in terms of drawing crowds. McCain was in Texas for the primary, he could barely fill up his town hall meetings. |

Kerry could have won without Florida if he had won Ohio. Obama can put alot of states into play that Clinton, Kerry, or Gore couldn't. 270 is 270, just because Obama plans on using a different path to 270 doesn't mean he has less of a chance. The last 2 nominees have depended on the states you mentioned and they BOTH LOST. Maybe a new strategy isn't such a bad idea. |
