That's all the response we need....it works every time for my grandparents in Florida. They get on a car/train/bus/airplane or WALK & get the fuck out.

Everyone talks about Katrina like it was some huge blindside caused by a politician....it wasn't....it was just the first mass exodus of people without a dollar in their pocket (or just too stupid to leave) in American history. And no one really knew how to deal with it.

I think he's probably referring to how FEMA and other US officials learned of the widespread Katrina aftermath from the TV news. Just a guess though!
I know *I* woulda been outta there in a pinch, but I have a car and money etc.

Add to that the US Government didn't halt all aide into the area, forbid the tv stations to show the devastation and hold a referendum election the following weekend all while ignoring the area hit by the storm.

He does? how so elaborate please because as I see it after Katrina the US response was far from perfect but most did not expect it to bad as bad as it was. None the less we had the Red Cross, Fema, Us Navy in the NO area rescuing people, distributing food/water/medical the day after the storm.

Has Burma even let foreign aide in yet now 2 weeks after the storm?

There's a huge difference between the US late response to Katrina and Myanmars whording of aid donated to their people. I wouldn't exactly classify them in the same category of shity.

I never said they were close in level of cotastraphe, just that we had balls seeing as we couldnt handle little ole Katrina with ANY dignity or care, yet we are fast to criticize other countries with their handling a HUGE cotastraphe. Get it?

Houston, Texas to be precise the place where the majority of the Katrina evacuees fled to. I was at the Astrodome and Reliant park volunteering for 4 days straight and had a chance to talk to the individuals that were brought in. I think I have a pretty good insight as to what transpired, what about you?
