80% (or so) of all sales are US, why?

80% of our sales are american, and next to that a huge part of the rest are from the UK

These numbers doesn't match up with actual number of money strong citizens in the world...
The US is facing the worst economy crisis, but still they manage to be the 80% which is the same numbers we saw before "crisis".

Of the remaining 20% of sales I'd say that 50% are of from the UK - and this seems fucked up compared to the number of wanking males in the rest of Europe

Could this be a huge scrubbing issue?

Americans do not have the leisure time of other countries, and are sexually repressed. Very few American males have active sex lives away from their hand. That coupled with familiarity with credit cards makes it easy to see why they spend the most.

I have heard that many countries outside the US have trouble using their credit cards to access US based websites (or at least sites that have their processing in the US) because of scrubbing. I would also imagine that much of it is a language barrier issue. If you have a site in English mostly people that join will be native English speakers.

I dont believe that. Whenever i see mardi gras on tv etc i see shiploads of sexually frustrated people, because of the extreme sex censorship and the extremely high drinking age (21). I bet it's about 10 times easier to get laid in the US then it is here.

All of your points move towards the reasons Americans purchase so much porn, then you lost me at the end. If it's 10x harder to get laid in the Netherlands, wouldn't that percentage increase the amount of sexual purchases in the country proportionally? Or is the sex drive/kink factor lower in the Netherlands? Or are they still purchasing more in brink and mortar locations? Or would you say that customers from the Netherlands join adult sites at the same % or more as Americans?


Mardi Gras is 1x a year (3 day) festival comprising a very small portion of the US, and more a regional celebration . Unless you count all the 'Mardi Gras' sales at the malls or 'Mardi Gras' menus at TGI Fridays or Chilli's restaurants. Never confuse Mardi Gras with actual fun events like Carnival in Brazil or Songkran in Thailand. Those are the definition of fun. Though interesting that Mardi Gras would make it on the news in the Netherlands.

Been to Carnaval and Spring Break. Both are great for getting laid. Have to do Mardi Graas but have heard good things.
