Because it denotes yelling, is harder to read, is annoying to read... and lets face it... we aren't on manual typewriters here.

Many internet nerds have OCD and anxiety disorders and so by using all caps they feel like they're being yelled at and may lead to public rampages with guns.

I realize it's implied meaning is to denote yelling, but, no one is actually yelling. What if someone just did this? That's kinda the same thing.

No it isn't. In several cases I have questioned the person only to find out they are too useless at the typing to properly use the shift key so they leave their caps lock on all the time in order to avoid having to type properly.

It may "just be letters" but you can't seriously be saying that it doesn't look absolutely retarded when someone is chatting or posting in all caps. Even when I was a raw newb to the internet it didn't take me long to figure out that people doing it made themselves look like idiots.
