Any diabetics or anyone know diabetics in San Diego?

I know this is a weird one - but my cat, who was diabetic, had to be put to sleep yesterday.
I had just bought a brand new vial of Lantus for him - and rather than throw it out, would prefer to give it to someone who needs it. Since it needs to be refrigerated, anyone in San Diego who can use it, or knows someone who can use it, please let me know.
Thanks.

Just wanted to say I'm sorry that your cat has passed.

I have a diabetic kitty too. Extra loves for him tonight.

Would love to go to the beach, but until my 11-week old daughter gets through the colic stage, I don't get to do much of anything these days ;)

Try giving her some warm herbal peppermint tea.

Thanks Actually, we have herbal gripe water that has peppermint and chamomile in it, and that helps her to sleep (it's gotten us past the vacuum cleaner next to her head stage lol), but unfortunately she also has GERD and that "overrides" just about everything, so after the gas builds up for a while her legs start flailing in her sleep, and eventually the stomach pain wakes her back up. The pediatrician has just increased her prescription for prevacid from once a day to twice a day - we're hoping that will help as well.

Sorry about your cat! For diabetics, human or animal, a lot of water is very important. Be sure to drink enough water!

Oh the poor little thing! Give her some big hugs and love. I recently read that if the mother drinks dairy and the child is sensitive to it, it can give the baby colic symptoms. I'm not sure if you guys have researched that angle or not, I just wanted to share.

Sorry to hear about your kitty. My mom's diabetic cat just passed last year. She was a wonderful kitty and lasted 11 years!

We appreciate it, but since she's not breast-feeding (she had to go back on some medication that can't be passed on to the baby) that's just about the only area where we could rule things out lol.

Thanks for Cat as well - he was the best ever, and despite diabetes, kidney disease, pancreatitis, IBD and a bunch of other stuff, he was going to turn 20 in a few months, until he got a brain tumor

Yep, they can have almost everything humans do - they just don't have health insurance and prescription plans to pay for their treatment

I wish I could, and I've already given some of his stuff to his animal hospital which does an exchange program to help vets in Baja - but they won't take opened medications (for the obvious reasons) - I've just been trying to find someone who would trust that the insulin is "clean" and can use it, since it's pretty expensive.

Aw, well I hope you guys find out what's ailing your little one soon. Give her a hug for me!

Wow, a 20 year old diabetic cat! My mom's vet was surprised her cat made it to 11!
